Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Supply Chain Apprentice to join our Procurement Team based out of our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.  

As a Supply Chain Apprentice, you will support the Supply Chain team while completing a recognised apprenticeship, assisting with procurement activities, supplier and subcontractor onboarding, and supply chain administration.

The role helps ensure the successful delivery of highway maintenance and construction projects while maintaining compliance with company processes and SHEQ standards.

What you’ll do: 

  • Manage all elements of your apprenticeship, (including tracking and achieving the 20% off the job element) in line with quality and timescale requirements to achieve the apprenticeship programme. 
  • Support the sourcing of products, services and works by raising purchase orders and task orders accurately and on time, resolving supplier and invoice queries promptly. 
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date supply chain records. 
  • Support supplier and subcontractor onboarding, vetting and compliance activities in line with company and SHEQ requirements. 
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, providing administrative support and escalating issues where appropriate. 
  • Assist with continuous improvement activities whilst successfully completing all apprenticeship learning, assignments and assessments. 
  • Follow internal processes and escalate issues where required. 

What we’re seeking: 

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent. 
  • Hold Level 2 English and Maths functional skills qualifications or be able to study to achieve this level upon completion of the apprenticeship. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high standard of written English, spelling and grammar.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work with a wide range of people, excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail. 
  • The ability to be able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
